About

Welcome to The Apache Software Foundation Apache Software Foundation

The Apache® Software Foundation (ASF) provides software for public good, guided by community over code. The ASF offers a home to hundreds of open-source projects in various domains such as data, cloud computing, search engines, libraries, geospatial applications, Internet of Things, and more. The foundation supports incubating new projects by providing them with a neutral and trusted home where communities can flourish. Contributions come from anyone who wants to make a difference, whether through coding, documentation, or ideas. This inclusivity extends beyond contributors; the community itself is at the heart of what the ASF offers. The ASF also hosts several events including Flink Forward 2026, focusing on streaming data technologies and practices for future development. Similarly, Iceberg Summit 2026 brings professionals in the data architecture space together to share insights and best practices. The foundation operates as a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code, supported by individual donors who believe in secure software beneficial for public good.
