CliniAtlas - Clinical evidence search for doctors who check the sources

Healthcare professionals in the European Union can search, compare, and grade clinical evidence through CliniAtlas, a clinical evidence platform that provides citations for every claim it presents. Developed in collaboration with the University of Split School of Medicine and created by DiscensMachina, the platform is designed specifically for verified healthcare professionals and processes all data within the EU. CliniAtlas searches across PubMed, Europe PMC, clinical guidelines from European societies and national bodies, and the EMA medicines register to answer clinical and research questions. When a user submits a query, the platform generates written responses where every statement links directly to its source material, allowing professionals to verify the underlying evidence. Each source receives a strength grading rather than being ranked by popularity. The platform draws from a curated corpus of European and UK guidance documents, tracking versions with their corresponding issue dates. Its methodology centers on evidence review, with systematic citation of claims and transparent source grading. CliniAtlas reads and processes information exclusively within the European Union. An example output demonstrates the platform's approach: when asked about cardiovascular and kidney outcomes for GLP-1 receptor agonists in type 2 diabetes, CliniAtlas presents data from meta-analyses, landmark trials including LEADER, REWIND, and SUSTAIN-6, and the 2023 ESC Guidelines on cardiovascular disease management in diabetic patients. The response includes pooled evidence, specific trial results with hazard ratios and confidence intervals, reported harms such as gastrointestinal adverse events and retinopathy signals, and explicit statements about uncertainties and limitations in the evidence base. The platform distinguishes between pooled relative effects and agent-specific evidence, noting when trials enrolled primarily higher-risk populations and when findings should not be extrapolated across all medications in a class. This approach reflects CliniAtlas's stated goal of making clinical evidence easier to inspect in European medical practice, with transparency about funding sources and trial design limitations built into its responses.
