About
DepLog - dependency monitoring and release alerts
Developers monitor dependency releases across multiple package managers with DepLog.dev, a service that tracks updates, flags breaking changes, and delivers alerts through email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and custom webhooks. The platform addresses common frustrations in dependency management: major releases that break code, time-consuming changelog reviews, duplicate package alerts, and excessive pre-release notifications.
The system filters alerts to match actual risk levels rather than overwhelming teams with every minor update. It pulls changelog data, assigns risk scores to releases, and highlights key changes so developers can assess updates faster. When risky releases drop, the platform flags them and summarizes the important deltas, surfacing the releases that matter most for early planning. Multiple versions of the same package are identified as duplicates to help teams consolidate. Pre-release versions tagged as alpha, beta, or release candidate remain quiet unless teams explicitly opt in to monitor them.
DepLog.dev supports public package managers across web, backend, mobile, and tooling ecosystems. Teams can customize notifications per monitor, with email going to the account owner by default and integration options available for faster team channels. Developers can validate dependency files or paste manifest lists for free analysis before onboarding, with findings delivered via email. The validation service runs once per minute.
The pricing model offers a permanently free tier covering five packages with no credit card required. Changelog parsing and all notification channels—email, Slack, Teams, and webhooks—are included with every monitor at no extra cost. When teams exceed five packages, they upgrade to usage-based billing structured in blocks of 20 packages. Each block costs €1.07 under a promotional rate valid through May 31, 2026, after which the standard price of €1.37 applies. The first invoice arrives 30 days after upgrading. Package counts include duplicates, and removing monitors automatically credits the difference. Payments and taxes are processed securely through Paddle at checkout.
The roadmap includes higher package and account limits, AI-powered release analysis with custom rules, and private package support with token access for private registries and changelogs. The service is built by SaaS professionals shipping quickly to gather feedback from real development teams.
