Samsung Electronics Co., et al. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The new community engagement office at The University of Utah will serve innovators in part of the eight-state area formerly serviced by the Rocky Mountain Regional Outreach Office. This initiative aims to incentivize meaningful participation by U.S. small and medium-sized businesses, universities, and non-profits in standards development organizations (SDOs). The USPTO reimagines its community engagement footprint as an agile model to meet innovators where they are. Under this new initiative, certain pending utility patent applications with no more than one independent claim and ten total claims may be advanced out of turn for their first Office action.
